Techno*TIP
One of the most neglected parts on a sailboat are the Life Line and Rigging Turnbuckles. Turnbuckles need to be kept free of dirt and salt by rinsing with fresh water periodically. A good marine lubricant like Johnson Sealube or equivalent should be applied to the threads. The lubricant will provide corrosion protection and keep the turnbuckles turning freely. Never straighten a bent threaded stud, always replace it. A bent stud is considerably weakened.
